Windows & Doors by Asheville Framing & Building
Choosing the right windows and doors for your home or commercial project is an area that deserves a lot more research than many other areas of the building process. It is not good for people to spend all of their money on building their new home and then install low cost windows with low insulation values etc. By spending a little more on good windows and doors, you are actually doing a small part toward energy efficiency. There are many manufacturers in the area that provide great products and research information to make sure you are getting a window or door that is healthy for your home.
Asheville Framing & Building installs windows and doors on their New Construction Framing projects, and we also install W&D on our remodels as well. Installing a window is more than just putting a window in a hole and nailing it to the structure.
We have a minimum of 2 men per window installation to get the window in, level and space it correctly, and then nail and seal the window in place. Have you ever come behind somebody that installed windows incorrectly? We have and it is not good, especially if the siding or drywall is already installed. If a window is not spaced right, you could end up with finish trim problems. The spacing problem could happen when you have 3 or more windows in a row on one wall. We have come in after other companies have installed windows and the spacing between the windows was 19 inches between window 1 and window 2, and then 17 ¾" between window 2 and window 3. It is only an inch and a quarter and maybe not noticeable… but Asheville Framing takes the time and uses their skill to get it right.
